Police chiefs taking aim at Maine's open-carry gun law

http://www.pressherald.com/news/Police-chiefs-taking-aim-at-Maines-open-carry-gun-law.html

A group of Maine police chiefs plans to ask the Legislature to tighten the state law that allows people to carry guns openly in Maine.

Several chiefs, including Portland's, are scheduled to meet Jan. 22 to discuss changing the law in response to an incident in which a man carried an assault rifle through several Portland neighborhoods on the day before Christmas.

The sight of the man and his gun, just 10 days after a man with a similar gun killed 26 people in an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., prompted dozens of calls to Portland police.

The officers lacked any legal authority to determine whether the gun was loaded, whether it complied with the federal ban on automatic weapons, or even whether Dean possessed the rifle legally, said Police Chief Michael Sauschuck.

Swaggering around the neighborhood with a loaded rifle is weird but endemic of many white males with power issues. It says alot about these gun loons. It's not like a quaint neighborhood in Maine is the Sudan or in the midst of a civil war. Maybe he thought Canada was going to invade the US. LOL.

This gun toting compulsion disorder seems to be prominent among white males for some reason. Something's messed up in their DNA. It goes beyond the 2A. Thats just their excuse to swagger around like Rambo like they are in control. Plus they're friggin' paranoid.

I'm calling it "White Male Syndrome" based on their paranoia, need to be in control and armed to the hilt.

but your post is somewhat unhinged.

The state of Maine needs to write and enforce some sane firearms laws - no question. But I am pretty sure they are not going to call their legislation the "White Male Syndrome" prevention act.

I can't get married legally...
I can personally be discriminated against legally...
I could be a victim of a hate crime at any minute...
I am subjected to intolerance daily...

These are the things I see as bigotry, not someone who is having a conversation about the USA's policies around a formed metal killing device.

... a temporary ban on 100 round magazines and some cosmetic features -- wood will be the new black. All of which be set to expire if Congress doesn't take specific action to renew.

In the meantime, life will go on, just as before.
