Although he says it in jest, AlterNet reader Perry Logan may have made a good point in the comment section. Could the crazy suggestions and irrational positions we're seeing from gun advocates and the NRA be attributable in part to their exposure to lead?

I've been reloading for 20+ years and get tested for lead. None. Having formerly painted with red lead paint for a living this was a pleasant surprise.

People who shoot pellet rifles come in more direct contact with lead.
