5. I doubt that even the "death" toll for cans, bottles, and paper targets...

...due to bump firing is very high. It would take some fairly specific circumstances to hit much of anything with that technique. It's mostly good for making a big racket...and it's cheaper to use a string of firecrackers for that. The hand-wringing over these devices is about as firmly grounded in reality, probability, and actual risk as most of the post-Sandy-Hook screeching.

6. The bump fire...

...gizmo is a toy. I'd be far more worried about a skilled rifleman with an accurate bolt action rifle than I would some droopy drawers bozo with one of these things.
