Obama skeet shooting photo, and already there has been a fake photo that New Republic removed

Last edited Sat Feb 2, 2013, 01:38 PM - Edit history (1)

There has been some skepticism that the President engages in shooting sports, and that he is anti-gun, in the context of gun control.

This refutes the allegation he dosen't.

Apparently he does; Huff Po did something on the topic.

Obama Skeet Shooting Photo Released By White House (PHOTO)

The White House released a photo of President Obama skeet shooting on Saturday, following a wave of skepticism about Obama's claim that he participates in the sport "all the time."

The photo, taken on August 4, 2012, shows Obama shooting clay targets at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland.

The "skeeter" flap began when Obama told The New Republic about his Camp David hobby, raising some eyebrows.

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos?" Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said earlier this week. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him. And I bet I'll beat him."

I don't anymore - just use my cell phone, and you know he has a dozen staff around him all the time to tell him what time it is.

Obama is such a modern president in so many respects that I'm actually surprised to see that he wears a watch.

My family bought me several watches over the years as gifts but I could never remember to wear them since telling time was always so easy without one.

and subject to the same laws that govern the state where the park resides.

I've never considered Obama anti-gun. He's a pragmatist. I don't hold his/Biden's proposals against them. They're following the process.

I've not seen any regular on this board disparage Obama--- just specific proposals.

I have seen people disparage, and I openly disparage, Diane Feinstein. I have seen people disparage, and I openly disparage, Cuomo.

Obama is a fine president. I wish he had been more successful in his efforts to move this country out of recession, but I blame the Republicans for that.

or drones.

I thought that would be obvious.

I also think his holding back this info until now was pretty smart. It spikes the proverbial guns of the NRA. But then I suspect the President is a more private person than most of us realize. He doesn't seem to feel the need to share every aspect of his life with strangers, like some people do on social media.

I am proud my President has a proficiency and interest in what is surely a part of Americana, and American culture.

kind of a debate between a Browning Citori or Ruger Red Label. Could be a Beretta of some model.
