The Backlash continues ...
"A planned anti-gun violence rally in Rockford drew four people today."
"The protest was organized by the Rockford MoveOn.org Council, who wanted to show its support for universal background checks on all gun sales in the United States. It also wants local stores, including chain-stores Wal-Mart, Dick's Sporting Goods and Gander Mountain to stop selling guns, the group said in a news release. One sign said "stop concealed carry."
But I'm sure they were 4 "highly" motivated people.
(In the meantime, the nearby Gander Mountain was doing a brisk business in their gun department, with a recent shipment of ammunition arriving yesterday.)

(7,720 posts)Gander Mountain gun-only store (guns and accessories) in the Twin Cities. They opened it in a former Best Buy store 1/2 mile from a Cabela's store. I have not been there yet.

(18,318 posts)if it was set up as a gun-control group, but either that organization is not viable, or MoveOn has no particular interest in gun-control. I hope it is the latter.
