Edmond, OK - Homeowner Shoots and Kills Home Intruder

EDMOND, Okla. —A homeowner shot and killed an intruder overnight in Edmond.

Police said 20-year-old Marlow Dwayne Wilson Jr. broke into a home on Cobblestone Court, near Danforth Road and Boulevard Street, about 3:30 a.m. and was shot by the owner. Wilson was pronounced dead on the scene.

The homeowner told police he was only protecting his life and the lives of his wife and two children.

“You are well within your rights to use lethal force if you feel your life is being threatened,” said Edmond police spokeswoman Jenny Monroe.

and it is the DA's job to seek justice, the DA's office has wide latitude on whether or not to charge someone with a crime.
A District Attorney may very well believe someone is guilty, but if they also believe they won't get a conviction, then they're not going to waste the tax payers money prosecuting a case they don't think they can win.

True story, I arrested a suspect in the Toiyabe National Forest for cultivation of MJ, thought I had the guy cold, presented my evidence to the local DA, he refused to prosecute because I hadn't actually caught the perp in the act of harvesting his crop, I, nor the DA, could prove beyond a reasonable suspicion, that this guy was the owner of the crop, even though we both knew it, because of the fact that we couldn't prove definitively that the perp owned the crop, the DA declined to press charges.

BTW, LEA's don't work for the DA's office, they work in conjunction with the DA's office.

Question, have you ever worked in LE as a cop?

They don't go into details. Maybe a warning was given, maybe it wasn't.

Also, I'm assuming it wasn't his daughters boyfriend, because it if was, I'm sure that would have been mentioned.

We don't even know if his kids were of dating age anyway.

At least from the sounds of it, the guy was in a house he shouldn't be in, and it was a good shoot.

Tennessee 6-month-old fatally shot as parents fight over handgunBy David Edwards

A Tennessee couple is facing charges after a domestic dispute ended with the death of their 6-month-old daughter.

Witnesses told WBIR that 26-year-old Angela Major and 40-year-old Ken Mason were fighting over a handgun that discharged, sending a bullet into the head of the child who was sitting at their feet at the time. A second round reportedly went through the hand of the father.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office had not released details about where the child was shot or how many bullets were recovered at the scene.

~snip~

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said that both parents had an extensive criminal history. Major has past convictions for aggravated burglary and vandalism. Mason had an outstanding warrant for failing to obey a court order.

Major and Mason were each being held in lieu of $1 million bond.

Police: Wichita man fatally shoots himself at range

WICHITA — A 51-year-old Wichita man apparently committed suicide by shooting himself in the head Monday at an indoor shooting range near 13th and Oliver, police said.

The shooting occurred while the Bullseye Shooting Range, at 14th and Terrace, was full and while the man was alone in a shooting lane that is separated from other lanes by reinforced concrete walls, police Sgt. John Hoofer said. “There were a lot of people there,” Hoofer said.

The shooting was reported at about 12:09 p.m., according to emergency dispatchers.

The man was taken in very critical condition to Wesley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Hoofer said.

The investigation indicates that the man was at the range for the first time and that he rented a handgun and received instructions on how to safely use the gun. The man had shot several times at a target before shooting himself in the head, Hoofer said.

Missouri Man Shoots Guy In The Face With A Shotgun While Watching Chiefs Game

Ronald L. Hall, a 65-year-old man from Lee's Summit, Mo., has been charged with assault and criminal action after allegedly shooting one of his son's friends during Sunday's Chiefs-Bengals game. According to NBC's Kansas City affiliate, Hall and the victim had been watching the game at Hall's house when some drunken insults escalated into violence.

~snip~

He also told police his father was ill-tempered and mean and his disposition had gotten worse in the last year, according to court documents.

~snip~

Hall's son and the victim were outside the house when a loud noise rang out.
The victim fell to the ground with a shotgun wound to his face.

They troll this group just trying to get a post hidden. They have their own protected group but it is rather boring so they bait this group. Hell, I copied and pasted one of their posts as a response. Mine was hidden the other was not. There are also a couple of posters that have been banned or used socks, in the past, that post here with their flame bait. Read a few threads and you'll be able to figure them out. We've got bongbong (ppr'd for racist comments), sharesunited, and one creating a sock to get around the jury system.

They are anti-RKBA so they are cool!!

Note to jurors -- I didn't call anyone out except PPR'd members.

He's become a caricature...and it's painfully obvious he has no desire to have an actual rational conversation. Since anti-gun trolls get a free pass, it's not worth complaining to the admins (and I think most of us agree the jury system's a broken joke). The only recourse is to let him have his little tantrums in isolation.

I fail to see what justification there is for breaking into somebody's home at stupid o'clock in the morning.

I'm not paranoid but I keep a revolver in the night stand and a shotgun in the hall closet for the simple reason that I don't trust the sheriff's department to be here in time to deter an armed intruder in the wee hours. It's pretty lonely out here and there are no regular patrols within miles.
