Georgia showing potential for better living.

http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-government/bill-proposes-massive-overhaul-1351904.html

House Bill 981 would allow people with concealed weapons permits to carry guns on almost all public properties. Exceptions include jail, courtrooms and nuclear facilities. Here are some places where guns would be permitted:

Public schools and colleges

Bars and restaurants

Places of worship

Polling places

Government buildings, including the state Capitol

...one of the hysterical argument points of the anti-gun crowd. Doesn't need to make sense or have a basis in reality.

Guns are prohibited on campus, but this also includes locked in your private vehicle in a parking lot or garage.

Thus, I'm restricted to being a weekend "toter"...

13. Why would you refer to right wing hate mongers as "friends?" That is who is behind the bill.

Why should guns be allowed in those places and not nuclear plants, prisons, court rooms, etc.

And like you I don't see a problem with legal citizens being armed in any of the places you mention, why should people volunteer to be vulnerable to make others "feel" safe. I suppose they just didn't want to push the limits any...

He could be moving to the more progressive end of the human rights spectrum. Even without the 2A guarantee, the firearm equalizes the human beings ability to survive. Life Safety should be progressive trait all of us should embrace.

They are. Nuclear power stations are staffed with armed guards. Prisons are staffed with armed guards. Court rooms are staffed with armed guards.

My state senator (a Democrat) has a license to carry concealed and will likely support this bill if it crosses over from the house.
