Gun rights groups rally support against Loretta Lynch nomination
Sabrina Siddiqui in New York
Friday 20 March 2015 20.49 GMT
As Loretta Lynchs confirmation process remains in limbo in the Senate, gun rights groups are mounting a campaign against the attorney general nominee.
Efforts to rally the pro-gun community against Lynch include an alert sent by the National Rifle Association to its members, and petitions and letters circulated among gun advocates, the Hill reported on Friday. Lynchs nomination has been the subject of intense scrutiny on Capitol Hill, where Republicans are yet to hold a vote on her confirmation.
Gun rights groups said they oppose Lynch because of her support for stricter gun laws and have dubbed her Eric Holder 2.0, a reference to the outgoing attorney general who has frequently clashed with the gun lobby.
Given her close personal and professional ties to this lawless administration, gun owners fully expect her to be Eric Holder 2.0, Dudley Brown, president of the National Association for Gun Rights, said in a statement. The group said it collected nearly 200,000 signatures on a petition against Lynchs confirmation.

Gun groups rally against Loretta Lynch
By Tim Devaney - 03/19/15 01:01 PM EDT
Gun rights groups are making a vigorous push to stop the Senate from confirming Loretta Lynch as President Obamas next attorney general.
Advocates are organizing petitions, drawing up letters and hitting the phones to urge Senate Republicans to oppose Lynch in a floor vote that could take place as early as next week.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) has sent an alert to its members warning that Obamas nominee would put gun rights at risk.
"As the nation's top law enforcement officer, Lynch would almost certainly have an impact on our Second Amendment rights, the NRAs lobbying arm said in the alert.

the AG is not going to mess with gun rights. She is not that stupid. She also saw what just happened to director of the ATF.

Tom Brandon is much less a friend or ally to pro-rights folks, than Jones was.
They just don't want to see African American women succeed
