Gun activist calls on Texans to arrest and hang state lawmakers after open carry bill is delayed

A Texas gun activist is once again calling for the execution of lawmakers over a bill that would allow the open carry of handguns.

Kory Watkins expressed his frustration Thursday morning in a Facebook post after open carry legislation stalled the day before over law enforcement concerns.

“I’m calling for the arrest of every elected official in Texas that voted against open carry,” Watkins said. “They should be arrested, charged with treason and should face a punishment that could result in being hung from the tree of liberty.”

The Texas House appeared close to passing the legislation, but law enforcement groups persuaded lawmakers Wednesday to remove a provision that would prevent police from asking those carrying weapons for their licenses if there was no other reason to stop them.

I'm going to own this, in exactly the same way as our friends in bansalot own the gun banners and openly racist 1 percent authoritarians that furiously peddle the "we just want reasonable regulations" clowncar.

Let him ramble; he is about half a step from crossing from free speech to terrorist threat and malicious harassment.

He appears to have no opinion on the subject. Well, except for the whole "gunz bad" schtick.

Used to do this a lot and even fled the group he hosted so it had no active host to block people. It was hilarious for some time. They cried as no one could be blocked in the "safe haven".

9. "Open Carry" Bill Heads to Gov. Abbott

A signature from Gov. Greg Abbott is all that remains before a bill allowing Texans to carry their handguns openly becomes law.

After a week of hand-wringing over a controversial amendment — and what proved to be empty threats of a Democratic filibuster — the measure sailed through both chambers of the Legislature on Friday afternoon. The vote in the House was 102 to 43; in the Senate, 20 to 11.

House Bill 910 from state Rep. Larry Phillips, R-Sherman, would allow license-holders to carry handguns openly in a hip or shoulder holster, changing current law requiring that such weapons be concealed.
