Whether you should open carry is a completely different question than whether you should own a firearm. I get the sense that most people here are not fans of open carry. I certainly am not a proponent, but am a firm supporter of RKBA.

an affirmative answer. Several rifles and handguns of differing types and calibers.

I do not open carry myself but can and do conceal carry occasionally.

"Not just open carry, this applies to owning a gun, as well."

Yes, definitely. Gun ownership isn't for everyone; only about half of households choose to own them. Whether or not to own a gun is a deeply personal choice.

The thing is, as a mentally competent adult with a clean record, I have the right to choose. I personally choose to own them; you obviously don't. I respect your choice.

as a slow newz fix, and when it cuts back on the culture war narrative. There will always be folks who will incorporate OC into their lifestyle, but there won't be many. As for concealed-carry, it can't very well bother too many people if the gun is, well, concealed. Never like the idea of OC, anyway.

I have a nagging memory of a well composed quote expressing just that but I can't remember the quote or its author.

I'll probably remember after I've forgotten about this discussion.
