Related: About this forumWarwick gun ban still drawing fire
WARWICK Some Warwick residents still feel the firearm ban at the Town Hall is unnecessary. But Selectboard members arent inclined to retract their policy.
During a June meeting, an angry resident, Jon Calcari, raised his voice, and Selectboard Chairwoman Dawn Magi said she felt threatened by the man, whom she knew to sometimes carry a handgun. On Aug. 3, the Selectboard voted 2-1 to enact a ban. Lawrence Doc Pruyn voted against the ban while Magi and Nicholas Arguimbau voted in favor.
During the public comment period at the end of this Mondays meeting, Warwick resident Steve Ruggiero one of five residents at the meeting asked the board to reconsider the vote.
The board declined.

I'm sure the 780 Warwickians sleep better knowing this ban is in place:

Keep up the good work control fans. You've got the NRA and SAF trembling in their boots.

(6,185 posts)3. Doesn't say what happens when she leaves city hall?
I'm assuming they must provide a 24/7 armed guards like Bloomberg, so no one can raise their voice and frighten her when she's stopping at the local ice cream stand or buying gas at a local station.
Worth noting that the citizen didn't threaten her, he "raised his voice" on whatever issue was under discussion (School taxes? Garbage pick up day? Condemnation proceedings? Taking down Warwick's confederate battle flag?). The rest all happened between her ears, with plenty of space to spare.
(Talk about desperate for gun control success stories from basement bloggers and this as "news"?)
