MILLER: Victory for gun rights in D.C

The newly-drafted legislation eliminates the five-hour training requirement for gun ownership. As documented in The Washington Times’ “Emily Gets Her Gun” series, this turned out to be the most time-consuming and expensive barrier.

The bill also does away with ammunition restrictions for registered gun owners. Under current law, residents face up to a year in jail for possession of any ammunition that is not in the same caliber or gauge as the registered gun. The city will also cancel the pointless vision and ballistics tests that were previously mandatory. The proposal will even allow the mayor to act as a gun dealer in the event the District’s only licensed broker, Charles Sykes, goes out of business

Maybe the District is coming to their senses. Or perhaps they have figured out if they don't change their stupid laws, they'll get the shit sued out of themselves again.

4. It's all the T Baggers fault!

Mar 2012

I've just "learned" in several other threads that any new gun laws, favorable to the actual 2nd amendment, are only being pushed through by T Baggers!

This will come as a surprise to all the Dems that voted for CCW in their home states.

That seems to be the new gun control fans meme here. The simple minded thinking is to try and smear anyone that favors more liberal gun laws as obvious T Bagger supporters.

E.g. - "Only T Baggers carry open or concealed", T Baggers are pushing through all these "Lax gun laws".

My two favorites ... so far, are the idea that somehow T Baggers pushed through laws in Congress before the GOP even controlled the House and the collection of T Bagger ass photos, supposedly snapped by one of our own in Starbuck's to show us how dangerous it is in there.

I still haven't found any control supporters that can explain why there are no gun control web sites either. Seems funny for something that supposedly "everyone supports", that there isn't a single web site out there for them?

5. Quote from a Democrat who voted for the legislation
Thu Mar 1, 2012, 01:53 PM
Mar 2012

Councilman Jack Evans, Ward 2 Democrat, voted for the bill under political pressure. “Council member Mendelson called me last night and said, ‘This is what I believe we have to do in order to accommodate the concerns raised by Congress and, or, the courts,’ Mr. Evans told The Washington Times. “Although none of us like making it easier for someone to have a gun legally, we believe that this is what we have to do.”

We are always told that they just want to keep guns out of the hands of criminals when obviously that is not the truth.

10. I'm sorry, but stories from the "Moonie Times" are not credible

That's as bad as trying to use Faux News as a source, or so I've been told by fans of gun control.

Now if you can find that same quote somewhere else ...

11. I just think it's hysterically funny

You're probably right. I doubt any other site would put up with the pointless whining and multiple return personalities the way Skinner does.

As a sport shooter I can find 5 sites in a minute or two that feature the Mosin-Nagant 91-30, a fairly obscure Russian military rifle in all it's varieties. The sites cover everything from how to restore it, improve it's accuracy, refinish the stock, find parts etc. Even ballistic comparisons of the different surplus ammo available for it and my own favorite, jokes about it comparing it to an AK-47 and an M-16/AR-15!

The Gun Grabby types keep telling us that they represent the mainstream and "Most" or "The Majority" agree with them in demanding more gun control, but they can't seem to create and support a single site anywhere related to gun control. All the while the Brady people still have no membership to speak of and police their Facebook page for comments like Stalin running a Pogrom.

Why should anyone need to practice shooting a gun? We all feel a lot safer now.

... and agreed with several gun control types here that think target practice is just practicing to kill people. Especially using those evil FBI profile targets.

BTW, if "Guns Win again..." how many guns actually voted for the change?

"It's not the people who vote that count. It's the people who count the votes."

Attributed to Stalin, but I don't think he every ran in an election.

That's why several cemeteries on 111th street, Chapel Hill, Holy Sepulcher etc,. are the most active precincts on close election days.

20. Update on the DC guns

I should have known better. There was a public meeting on the increasing crime rate in DC, here's the story. Play the video in the link, it explains the attitude of the officials of the District.

City official insists residents shouldn’t defend themselves
