As More Women Buy Guns, Local Classes Cater To Ladies

As More Women Buy Guns, Local Classes Cater To Ladies

More women are pulling the trigger and buying guns.

A Maryland company, Practical Training Professionals (PTP), is having special classes that focus specifically on females and firearms.

On Sunday, it was a packed house in Timonium for a training that could mean life or death.

“The two causes of firearm accidents is ignorance, and negligence,” says Ryan Gass, owner of PTP. “What we are doing today is trying to break through that ignorance.”

The article goes on to state women are more likely than men to answer protection when asked why they are buying a gun.

5. Perhaps more that is something that new gun owners should be made aware of

Or at least need to be reminded of, regardless of gender.

Every local gun store I know of includes a trigger lock, and anyone I know with kids and guns keeps their firearms secure, but then I don't care to associate with idiots. Even my wife and I, who are childfree and only go shooting for fun at paper targets at least have everything locked away (biometric safes are pretty cheap).

For years shooting was basically Augusta National - White men only, but that has been changing in the last couple of years.

8. An indoor range near me has "Free Thursday" for women

Also instructors for free to teach 1 on 1 the basics of safety and handling/shooting for women or men that have never shot, or know very little about firearms. There's 10 lanes on the range and they stay used, mostly by women, all day Thursdays. They have a 8 hour class for women once a month that cost $25 but if you shoot free Thursday and buy 1 box of ammo then you get the class for free. It teaches everything regarding safety and defensive use of a handgun.

They don't push the NRA, Trump, rebel flags, and the instructors and employees never talk politics or anything like that so I suspect they're trying to appeal more than just women.

Don't worry guys. They also have free Monday for men with all the above opportunities.
