You get rid of violent criminals and then we can talk about restricting guns.

(15,396 posts)So revise it to; I'll give up my SD firearms after the police, military and criminals are disarmed and there are no threats to my family, property or person from any person with any weapon.
Unit then I'll not give up mine just to make people feel better.

(5,046 posts)Amazing, Your post, demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of the issue at hand, and in one stroke of the keyboard, blame the victim for "being part of the problem" so she could protect her self. How very progressive of you......
You say people with guns are the problem...But the undeniable fact is that the vast majority people with guns are clearly NOT part of any "problem". As you may have noticed a large number of DU users, Liberals, and Democrats are gun owners...Are they too "part of the problem"?
To call the average gun owner part of the problem tends to upset them. And they tend to remember who said what on election day, and it has been proven time and time again, that Gun rights people vote, in far FAR larger numbers than gun control advocates.
Have you even considered the fact that views like your are outside of the mainstream of our party, and that in fact, statements like you just made, has been "part of the problem" for the past 20 years around election time??

(2,477 posts)no guns, no people with guns, just victims w/o the means to defend themselves against those that will still commit crimes against the elderly, frail, weak.
Another question for you, how are you going to stop dirt bags from getting guns? How do you stop the smuggling of guns across the borders? How do you stop the making of guns by thugs? Anyone with a basic knowledge of metal working, a lathe, a drill press, and a welder can make one, how do you propose to stop that?
Have you even thought this through?
How do you expect that to be accomplished?

(14,139 posts)NO ONE needs a gun to defend themselves from dangerous, psychopathic criminals, because NO ONE is ever attacked by such crazies.
It is statistically impossible. I have learned this from reliable experts in this forum.
