Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumNRA Members Across US Showing Support for Conservative American Values Group
Along with the many generous contributions are letters expressing their support and encouragement to work hard fighting for Traditional American Values. According to their group members, those are the values first established by our founding fathers in our country's original amendments of our Constitution.
None of the letters indicate whether or not the NRA is making a formal attempt to drive contributions for the group at this time. It seems that the conservative efforts of the American Appreciation Day members naturally appeal to NRA members. Their attempts simply seem to align perfectly with patriotic organizations of this country like the NRA.

(5,436 posts)... the DU Gun Lobby ASSURES us that loose gun laws are something every liberal should endorse, and gun control organizations are republican plots.
What is one to do?

(26,602 posts)Sounds a bit scammy: "Send us money and gold, and we'll, uh, we'll, ... yay America!11!!"
In fact, I'm a bit skeptical that these NRA-mentioning letters even exist - sounds more like a way to peer-pressure the gullible into emptying the jewelry drawer...

(12,072 posts)The NRA membership is diverse, except on the topic of guns. The NRA takes no stance on issues other than guns and those things that directly effect the NRA.
So it is not a surprise that SOME of the membership will contribute to this, but I strongly doubt that most members are doing it. The article could even more easily be spun as NRA membership rejecting the TAV organization as most are not sending in old jewelry.
The picture shows a few hundred pieces of jewelry. The NRA membership is about 4.5 million. A few hundred out of 4.5 million is a tiny segment that is sending in gold.

That's not all. If a black man is running for president, the NRA conjures up all kinds of imaginary reasons why he is a "gun-grabbing Liberal!"

(6,086 posts)a large concentration of these upstanding "Americans" or should I use their term, "PATRIOTS" in the NRA who have HUGE issues with Obama BECAUSE of his perpetual tan and anyone who tries to say otherwise with a straight face needs serious help.
My husband left that group years ago because of the extreme social stance ALOT of them have and he collects rare firearms, alopng with his own modern collection.
