As she tried to flee her home, Barber began chasing her out of the house, police said. They said Stucker began screaming for help as heard by her neighbors, and as she began running toward the road, she stopped, saw the intruder still chasing her and fired one shot at him, striking him once in the chest, police said.
I'm guessing she ran figuring "not going to shoot someone over the TV" which is reasonable, I wouldn't either assuming I owned one. She only fired after it was obvious it wasn't about stuff.

(18,318 posts)A lot of folks don't seem to consider that the onus of a civilian shooting was once put on the shooter, even if the person shot was a criminal. The stand-your-grand law is not perfect, but it properly places the burden on proof on the state, with consideration for what the criminal was doing.
