Dianne Feinstein accuses CIA of intimidation in effort to block torture report
Dan Roberts in Washington
theguardian.com, Tuesday 11 March 2014 14.04 GMT
The chairwoman of the Senate intelligence committee, Dianne Feinstein, on Tuesday accused the Central Intelligence Agency of a catalogue of cover-ups, intimidation and smears aimed at investigators probing its role in an un-American and brutal programme of post 9/11 detention and interrogation.
In a bombshell statement on the floor of the US Senate, Feinstien accused the CIA of potentially violating the US constitution and of criminal activity in its attempts to obstruct the intelligence committees investigations.
She also revealed two separate criminal investigations into the growing scandal, and described the alleged unconstitutional interference as a defining moment in congressional oversight of the executive branch.
Feinstein said the agency had twice searched a secure computer network, set up for the committee to access internal CIA documents, in violation of an agreement between the two sides. Such a search would have been a violation of the fourth amendment and a violation of the Computer Use and Fraud Act, she said.

Am I to suppose she is that naive? Yes, I think I do.

. . . who has, to date, been among its chief cheerleaders and defenders, then you KNOW there's a problem!
