Navy League announces fund drive for aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford

By Hugh Lessig

For a sailor at sea, the ship's chapel can fill an important role. So can the crew library.
The Navy League of Hampton Roads wants to make sure these amenities on the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford are as fully equiped as the war-fighting side of the ship.
The group on Friday announced it would hold a fund drive for "important enchancements" that will improve the crew's quality of life while at sea. The league is also working on events relating to the Ford's 2016 commissioning day.
Executive Director Maryellen Baldwin said this will be the 25th commissioning for which the group has assisted.

I'll just note here that small things done to improve the quality of life aboard ship are much appreciated.
