Former CIA director Petraeus pleads guilty to federal charge: DOJ

WASHINGTON Tue Mar 3, 2015 11:31am EST

(Reuters) - Former CIA director and U.S. Army General David Petraeus has pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified information, the U.S. Justice Department said on Tuesday.

Documents disclosing Petraeus's guilty plea, which reportedly stemmed from his personal relationship with biographer Paula Broadwell, were filed in federal court in Charlotte, North Carolina. An attorney for Petraeus, Robert Barnett, said he had no immediate comment.

Mr. Petraeus has agreed to plead guilty to one count of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material, a misdemeanor.
He is eligible for up to one year in prison
but
prosecutors will recommend two years of probation and a $40,000 fine.

All in all, not worth the cost of prosecuting him.

he gets tortured, railroaded by military tribunal and imprisoned.

Petraeus does it, no big deal? And Petraeus wasn't even releasing it for the good of the country, as a wistleblower, but as a favor for his gf.

I see what you mean, about getting pass.

Thank god the scandal stopped him.
Too bad the punishment wasn't serious.
Saved his retirement funds, and perks.
