U.S. airmen at nuclear missile base suspended over drug probe

WASHINGTON, MARCH 18

Fourteen airmen who helped secure a U.S. complex that hosts inter-continental ballistic missiles have been suspended from their duties due to an investigation into "illegal drug activity," the U.S. military said on Friday.

"The drug allegations involving these 14 airmen are credible," said Air Force General Robin Rand, Commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, adding the allegations involved activities by the junior airmen during their off-duty hours.

Rand, speaking to reporters, declined to specify which drugs were involved. (Reporting by Phil Stewart)

2. This is another AFB that hos a drug problem.

The last one we heard about was Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana.

3. That's wat I thoiught after I asked...

Then I heard something on the radio about it and apparently this facility also was included in the Malmstrom AFB, there were several facilities involved in that event. This is the base near Omaha? Bellevue? Anyway, they were caught with off duty party drugs as I recall the radio report said yesterday evening.
