Amazon Users Pen Sarcastic Drone 'Reviews' For Children's Unmanned Aircraft Toy
By Drew Guarini | Posted: 02/01/13 EST

On the Internet, sometimes you can't avoid political bickering. Even while shopping for a children's toy online.

The latest instance: a protest Amazon users are holding on the page of a children's unmanned aircraft toy. It's been inundated with users reviewing Obama administer's use of military drones abroad, pointed out by Buzzfeed's Andrew Kaczynski.

The toy shares the "Predator" name with an unmanned aerial vehicle that has become a favorite of the U.S. Air Force and CIA. The use of drones -- particularly in countries where the U.S. is not at war such as Yemen or Pakistan -- have come under intense scrutiny in recent years for causing child casualties, with studies showing drone strikes could potentially cause unprecedented blowback.

for any military-themed toy sold on a place that lets just anyone write reviews.

They came equipped for dog fighting with a sonar and sensor. When you hit the other plane with a high freq blast his engine shut down for a while. They looked exactly like that one, same size and everything.

Unlike the govt model, we kept it under a million dollars. Probably less carbon fiber. LOL

My all time favorite is by Billy Bob McRobert, who wrote a stellar review for the Badonkadonk Land Cruiser:

Stuffy old eBay doesn't allow for such etail mayhem and starves the creative palate.

I don't know who wrote that, but it's comedy genius.

I've found that Amazon has tons of ridiculous products that inspire volumes of creative feedback. "Jesus General" at Patriot Boy has become a regular reviewer there. His tongue in cheek satiric writing style blends right in among the serious feedback.

His fans pump up his reviews and put him near the top everytime.
