Veterans Flood Rep. Joe Walsh’s Facebook Page To Denounce His Attacks Against Double Amputee

After ThinkProgress published video showing Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) denigrating his opponent’s — a double amputee — military service, veterans swarmed the Illinois Republican’s Facebook page to denounce his attacks.

Many of these veterans described themselves as “dedicated conservatives”, “rock-ribbed Republicans”, and “Tea Party members.” Yet despite their ideological leanings, Walsh’s insult drove them to defend Tammy Duckworth and strongly condemn the Tea Party freshman.

Bob Frick wrote: “As a dedicated conservative and Republican and Tea Party member, you overstepped Congressman. Before I am either of the aforementioned, I am an American. I am a retired American soldier. How dare you refer to or determine what a hero is when you never served.”

Run it 100's of times a day, Joe Walsh does not respect American service-people, Joe Walsh shows contempt for American hero's loss of limbs. It would carry the day for her.

or he'd pay his child support without his ex wife having to get the law on him. While the law was tracking down Joe for his unpaid child support, I wonder how many other crimes went un investigated?

If Joe wanted to "serve America" he should sign up for a tour in Afghanistan. The guy is a coward and a deadbeat.

He also doubled down on his attacks on Tammy Duckworth and claims he's the victim there, too!

if it pisses you off enough. you never forget. (like Republicans breaking the law in WI. they got punished for it. as Scott Walker didn't actually do the dead as shown on the Wisconsin network online.... he wasn't. but I still hang said sign to never forget.

whether one touts themselves a hero or not is up to them. It's not up to others however to say they aren't one. Just like it's not up to others to say they are a hero when they know in their heart they aren't or dont consider themselves one.

No one deserves a fool like that representing their district. I would contribute to a bail fund if a veteran would like to kick his ass. I think it might make people think that there is a level that free speech goes and he went much too far.

certainly military service is not for everyone - but if you don't serve, don't trash the service of those who do serve and don't be a warmonger!

however, what Walsh did and others like him (thinking Chambliss vs Cleland) is not acceptable.

It ain't much, but I'll be damned if some asshat teabagger sends one of my fellow vets off to war, then tells them to STFU about it.
