Related: About this forumI received contradictory letters from Social Security
Yesterday I received two letters from the Social Security Administration.
The first was the normal annual letter announcing the COLA, listing all the deductions I have (including Medicare premium for Part B & C and Medicare Drug Plan [Part D]), and the amount I'll get monthly after all the deductions.
The second letter says, "We will no longer deduct ... health plan premiums and your Medicare prescription drug plan costs from your monthly benefits." Then it tells me an amount I'll receive monthly. The monthly amount is not the same as the amount in the first letter but the difference is not the amount of the Plan D premium!
Possibly relevant info: The first letter came from SSA Wilkes-Barre, PA and the second came from SSA Mid-Atlantic Service Center in Philadelphia. I have a Medicare Advantage plan with a $0 monthly premium, so that shouldn't have any effect on the monthly payments.
Anyone know or have any likely ideas about what is happening?
