- Offended Outcast. Welcome to the Sickness Economy Series. (12 mins). 🍕 🌽
Modern food didn't fail on accident. It changed on purpose. In America, the cheapest calories are the ones that hurt us, and the expensive ones are the ones that nourish us. That isn't a mystery. It's an incentive.
Over the last 50 years, real food was slowly replaced by "products," shelf stable, addictive, convenient, engineered for profit and quietly harmful in ways that didn't show up overnight. You don't drop dead from a cereal box. You just get a little sicker every year.
And while the government pointed a finger at "personal responsibility" the food industry quietly turned nourishment into a business model, and our bodies carried the cost... Read More under * Description in the YouTube link above.

big ag and the rest of the food industry to get away with screwing us.
"Fast Food Nation" and Michael Pollan's books tell us how and what they did.

highly recommend.
Thanks for posting.
.. Pollan also co-starred in the documentary, Food, Inc. (2008), for which he was also a consultant. In 2010 Pollan was interviewed for the film Queen of the Sun: What are the bees telling us?, a feature-length documentary about honey bees and colony collapse disorder.[23] He was also interviewed for Vanishing of the Bees, a documentary also about colony collapse, directed by Maryam Henein and George Langworthy. In 2015, a documentary version of Pollan's book In Defense of Food premiered on PBS.[24]...

(15,691 posts)5. The food industry figured out how to addict us to their products to become repeat customers...SOS...
Salt, Oil and Sugar.. All these products light up the addiction areas in the brain like drugs do..
So when customers want LO FAT!!! Jack up the salt and sugar.. LO SUGAR.. jack up the salt and oil..
LO SALT? jack up the fat and sugar.. They have our number... They load them up with preservatives so they arn't really food, they are "food like products" that keep us addicted.. The outcome is we get sick and need the Medical Industrial Complex to keep us kinda sorta healthy.. That is another whole ball of wax..uff
So what to do? ...Eat real food, mostly plants, not too much..Move, you have to move also...Bop till you drop.
YMMV
