what members of this group have commented on for some time. It's ugly, and it tells me that Sanders so-called supporters are determined to lose the election for him. They may not succeed, but they are working awfully hard at it. Of course it says far more than that, but I think you all know enough of my views to fill in the blanks. I am interested in hearing your responses to what is happening.

(111,383 posts)and I'm seeing ample nastiness from all sides.
I was hoping we wouldn't repeat the Hillary War of 2008. Unfortunately, it looks to be shaping up just that way.
I'm trashing most partisan threads and hope the DU PTB set up Election 2016 for them sooner, rather than later.
Cults of personality, any personality, are annoying at best and destructive at worst.

DU must be looking very empty for you now. Did you see Skinner and EarlG have developed alternative platforms for Clinton supporters? It looks like they have abandoned ship.
Was it this bad in 08? My God.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
What's "ugly?" "So-called supporters?" What kind of call-out is this?
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu May 28, 2015, 02:00 PM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Meta, divisive, OTT, insensitive, unproductive and just plain stupid.
How about talking about issues instead of continuing the current DU meme that Sanders' supporters are meanies?
And btw... there are fake Sanders supporters on here showing the same type of 'concern'.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Reading this OP as an objective, uncommitted (I am neither a stumper for Bernie nor Hillary) DUer, I cannot understand how any who read the many Impending-Primary/Presidential Campaign threads could arrive at such a conclusion. Both sides of this fracas have been, to put it mildly, unnecessarily rude to one another, on more than one occasion. I do agree with BainsBane that it's ugly, but to assign blame to Bernie's Bloc, alone, is quite unfair and not what I've seen happening. I agree with the alerter that this is a call-out and I think that it's contrary to what has been actually occurring. Welcome to Pre-Election Season!
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is a protectec group. Leave
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I think there is a great deal of racial insensitivity expressed on DU. Members of the AA group can not be expected to NOT vent frustration.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: As far as I know - Gibberish is still allowed on this site
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Broad-brush attack on Sanders supporters.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(12,869 posts)The point wasn't that they are fake supporters. It's that their approach is counterproductive.

(99,716 posts)But there are too many posters looking for a fight... I don't walk around disrespecting/insulting folks in real life for three reasons; it's wrong, it wasn't how I was raised, and it's a good way to get yourself hurt.

(10,893 posts)were to take a peek at DU for a short while, he'd probably be disgusted. I remember him saying in so many words that he wants to focus squarely on the issues, and that he doesn't want to engage in any negativity or be anti-Hillary. What some of his self-proclaimed supporters here are doing is sort of the opposite of that. I have seen vague criticisms and misinformation about Hillary here, and people get overly defensive whenever there's a poster who might question some of Bernie's stances or approaches.

(31,937 posts)From some Sanders and Clinton members. What's shocking is how either incompetent or evil Democratic party members are willing to paint a potential President.
I've now had two active AA group members reach out to me expressing thoughts that hostility has overflowed back here. That shouldn't happen.

I have a feeling that we will be abandoning our "Try REEEEALL hard not to block anybody" philosophy we've been practicing since the creation of this forum very soon.

Behind the Aegis
(54,014 posts)Y'all might want to think about reinstating adding "This is the African-American Group!" as the first line of threads. I actually borrowed that idea for a minority group I host and it seems I am going to have to start doing it again too. Reading the comments, it is clear one voted to hide because they felt it was "Meta". That 'rule' isn't relevant here (unless y'all have something in place). Also, by placing that comment in thread starter allows jurors to know it is a "safe space" group as many people don't even look to see where the post is coming from in relation to the alert.
Of course, this won't stop alerts on individual posts here, but letting jurors know where they are adjudicating may make a difference.
Number23
(24,544 posts)It just seems so fucked up that the AA group would have to do that in order to keep the trolls at bay.

(32,342 posts)The only reward for the terrible ugliness is knowing that most people will come around and realize that stopping whatever mendacious fool wins for the RNC is necessary and rally behind the primary winner.
But. I wish people would realize that one shouldn't make rash comments that one will have to walk back later. It's one thing to support someone you are jazzed about (and I get it, I've had political crushes,) but nasty nyah nyah nyah stuff, and the other crap about civil rights is really counterproductive. And damaging long-term.

(89,279 posts)he is mostly running to bring up certain issues. some get angry if you say this but it is what it is. i will probably vote for him also .
his so called supporters would be doing the same thing whether or not he was in the race. even now there is little from them that is pro sanders. much of it is anti hillary or something against some democrats. and that's what they were doing before he got in the race.
many of his so called supproters on this site are more focused on getting certain individuals posts hidden and get them in a time out than anything else.

(31,849 posts)Bernie popped into DU (like Grayson does from time to time) and address his "supporters" saying "Knock it off" and indicate that he will give the run his all; but, should he not gain the nominee, he will enthusiastically support the Democratic nominee.
That would lead to a bunch of

(31,937 posts)In GD this morning - regarding how Sanders can get things done.
I used his ideas - as laid out by another poster - to show how it WAS done in another state.
Then down thread I read - 'none of the other candidates have even talked about this'.
I even gave a blueprint - a state it could be modeled after . . .
I'm reading -
Out in the streets
Revolution - etc. etc.
They ought to note what happened during the Paris Commune - then tone down the rhetoric.

(53,093 posts)is directly at odds with revolution. People turn to revolution when all other options are shut off to them. If there is a significant uprising in this country, it won't be from this crowd. If there is revolutionary potential anywhere, it is with the black lives movement.

(31,849 posts)Apparently no one gets the irony/contradiction of a "revolutionary" figure running for office totake a position within the system.
Hush truth, as history is poised to repeat itself.
