http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=6974079They offer two targets. One of a black teenager, and one of a Muslim. How can anyone justify the racism presented in that post. They try to use a bunch of photos made by the same company from shoot/don't shoot targets, most of which are white, and which are used to try to teach police officers not to shoot unless absolutely necessary. "See, the targets are diverse!" Well first, the "diverse" targets are used mainly for a different purpose, and second, the gun range only offered two targets, the aforemetioned.
It's astonishing. Wait, no it isn't, and that's even more sad.

(11,833 posts)I'm emailing it to a friend right now.
I haven't seen the thread you mention. I try and avoid too much of the discussion at GD as a lot of it makes me sick to my stomach.

Or, wait, I'll post the link here:

I just emailed it to a buddy who was trying to talk about this color-blind stuff. Great timing.

(22,336 posts)because I pasted it to someone who said the he didn't see black or white, he just saw people, or something like that. Oh and therefore black people should be peaceful or something.

(11,833 posts)I figured from your earlier post that's what you meant.
I'm glad you posted that psychology today article.
Honestly I don't understand how more white people can't understand this.
I'm also wondering where that notion is coming from. Is someone teaching it or something?
It just seems really stupid for a white person to declare they are color blind. I think it's bullshit. I also just emailed my friend and said 'I will continue listening more to black people on this matter. If they all start saying everything is color blind now, then I'll believe it.' Or words to that effect. LOL.
That "color blind" thing kills me. You have to break it down for them. "So everyone looks white to you?" We don't want to be white. We want to be different, and we want that to be acceptable.

(25,537 posts)They've been conditioned to start drooling and barking when they see certain words. They can't even calm down enough to properly read whatever has been posted and they know everything already so why waste time. They'll accuse you of posting things to rile people up and trolling for clicks and looking for trouble and bark, bark, bark.
I tried to look at some of those threads today. Didn't last long, make me feel sick, nauseated. If I wanted to know what stupid white people think, I'd go find clips from FOX News.

(17,651 posts)I wonder how many of those who don't care for the phrase are black.
I notice there's a huge gap in opinions between those who have been on the receiving end of rascism and those who are immune-by-birth.
