Today is a Good Day ...

Today, BabyGirl 1StrongBlackMan got not one, not two; but three calls from the Admissions Offices her top 3 college choices ... each telling her to expect an acceptance letter and scholarship Offers in the mail next week! Her number one choice told her, "We want you ... You're in ... Don't worry about how you'll pay for it; we'll make away!"

This is good because she's been kind of on edge and insecure about her prospects.

I'm so proud of her ... now the tough part ... Preparing her for that idiot that claims she took his spot; despite the fact, she's a 3.8 gpa'ed, Advance Placemented, 96th and 98th percentile on the SAT and ACT scoring, 10 hour a week volunteering, 20 hour a week working (a job that she got on her own), student.

You must be so very proud of her. I wish I could offer her congratulations for a job well done myself. Please do it for me.

Congratulations to your daughter on her success and achievements. She is obviously a terrific young woman who is destined to make our world a better place. I suspect her parents have been a very positive influence in her life.

She gets her braineses from me!

No, seriously ... She has been in the "Gifted Program" since the 4th grade and has always done well in school. Until her Freshman year of High School, when the "Gifted Program" Teacher questioned whether she was truly gifted, because she didn't accept (the teacher's) conventional wisdom! The teacher's reason for questioning her intellectual status ... BabyGirl 1StronglackMan challenged her (In an admittedly disrespectful manner) when the teacher attempted to teach (during Black History Month) that Abraham Lincoln had great love for, and was a "great friend" to Black folksr.

"Dad ... she was flat-out wrong and I told her so!"

That led to my going to the school and straightening that teacher out. But the ruckus, embarassed BabyGirl and she decided to shut down. It took about 4 months of re-assurance for her to get back in gear.
