In a teeny-tiny way, in some of the "discussions" I've been having lately, I'm starting to get an inkling

of how frustrated AA people must be feeling almost every day.

I fully realize that my excursions into GD-Primaries and GD aren't exactly life threatening, so I don't want to minimize what you go through by making the comparison. Still . . .

I just want to say . . . . sorry!!!

Classic group think..piling on..

I've come to the conclusion it's getting to the point where so few reflect and consider you're just trying to fight a rising tide with a bucket full of holes.

Nothing but catastrophic defeat will force any reflection.

The people chasing Black folks and white supporters off this board are NOT Democrats.

I simply cant fucking believe your post was hidden in AfAm group, it didnt deserve to be hidden at all, let alone here.

This is insane.

But it will NOT be stopped.

There are people here who have made it ABUNDANTLY clear they don't care about us or our opinions. Some have even declared war on this forum because we refuse to swear fealty to a certain candidate.

The alert rules on posts are very clear: "This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate."

There was nothing rude, disruptive or inappropriate about my response from one black poster to another one who expressed dismay at the behavior of some of the supporters of a particular presidential candidate. And as I noted, that person is one of a long, long, LONG line of people, groups and movements that have expressed similar dismay/disgust about this same crowd.

Trying to shut up the truth doesn't do one damn thing towards making it any less true.

Black people in this country have been forced to step outside of our own skin since day one. But when we refuse to what most unwitting beneficiaries of white supremacy rarely do, then we're the ones with the problem.

Black lives matter unconditionally. Some will understand that fact, but most will choose not to.

They've been taught to think that everything is all about them and their own vision of what is normal.

Many are a completely unreceptive audience, not willing to open their minds to other possibilities, no matter how calm and rational the argument.

I'm someone whom members of this group have said that I "don't get it." I think that's a fair assessment at times.

Nevertheless, I appreciate the opportunity to engage and learn from members of this group. I think you'd be surprised how much change is happening from discussions of racism during this primary season. I regret that African Americans have been hurt by the things I've written (and things others have written).

I write this post to encourage those who are still willing to engage people like me.

I recognize that its not anyone's job to educate me, but I do appreciate those who are willing to discuss issues of racism with me. I try not to engage people who don't seem interested in conversing with me.
