Judge blocks three Black Lives Matter leaders from Minnesota mall protest

MINNEAPOLIS

Three leaders of a loosely organized Black Lives Matter group have been barred from a protest planned for Wednesday at the Mall of America in suburban Minneapolis, a judge ruled.

The order, which does not extend to the group itself or to unnamed people, "should not be interpreted as authorizing or permitting others to engage in political demonstration at the Mall of America without the express permission of the Mall of America," Hennepin County Judge Karen Janisch wrote.

Black Lives Matter Minneapolis has said the protest over the fatal shooting of a black man by a Minneapolis police officer in November would go forward regardless of the judge's ruling.

The mall sought a restraining order after the group said last week it planned a return protest at the mall, where about 1,500 people protested last December over the deaths of black men in police-involved incidents in New York and Missouri. About two dozen people were arrested in that protest.

Last year's protest was the last Saturday before Christmas and Wednesday's is set for the last full shopping day before the holiday.

This is how it works, or is supposed to.

Beaten or shot and killed, which do they deserve for peaceful trespass?

Do you know how the Vietnam war was stopped?

else to protest - they have a right to bar anyone from their private property just as you do with your home. the mall doesn't have to even let them in just like you and your home. if they get in and peacefully protest then they will be peacefully (probably not) arrested and taken out. what you stated is what is SUPPOSED to happen isn't supposed to.

the war in nam ended because walter Cronkite turned against it and

No doubt, many believe that commercial property holds a greater value than what POC are forced to live through every day, regardless of whether we allege "that's not me" or any other rationalizations we may make to minimize BLM.

When I have three members of this group PM during the day with 'vibes' that you are trolling and being disruptive.

The last time you posted back here (Nov 13) - you jabbed at ChiTownKevin and sucker punched ismnotwasm.

Please back away from the thread - trash it.

I think one person already put you on ignore.

I didn't see that you'd asked that person to step away.

Not surprising though. That post of theirs upthread where they posted the famous pic of the little girl whose clothes had been burned off by napalm during the Viet Nam War in a thread about Black Lives Matter has to be one of the most bewildering things I've ever seen.

Yes - what happened in Vietnam was awful. Probably some of it at the hands of my father.

But so was the shit that happened to him right here in America - and it continues.

Right in that posters own backyard.
