Tim Wise: White America Has No Clue and Don't Want to Understand

As we come up on the end of the year, I'm looking back at some of my favorite articles and interviews. I have to say when 2015 started, I didn't know who Tim Wise was but he quickly became one of my favorite commentators and voices.

This clip is from his appearance on RT this summer after the Baltimore uprisings. I find this commentary particularly relevant and timely in lieu of Tamir Rice, 'Affluenza', DU Alert Stalking, etc:

My appearance on RT (Russia Today) news, from shortly after the Baltimore uprising of late spring/early summer, discussing the importance of both an historical and systemic analysis of racism for those interested in understanding the crisis there (and elsewhere). It’s a few months dated, but I just found the link…and it’s still relevant of course…

And as usual, he gets right to the heart of the matter here. And I share his utter bewilderment that white people TODAY let alone in 1962 could even try to pretend that the US is a place where black children get the same opportunities as children of other races.

And I love how he never fails to debate on any supremacy related topic. He's who I consider a real ally. I think the man came out of the womb educating white people and fighting racists.

And reminds me to watch his documentary White Like Me
