A large majority of the posts have something to do with black voters. They either are doing it on purpose or they are fucking clueless. They alert stalk anybody who tries to point out how insulting they are being by doing this.

(496 posts)If you can see this as BS supporter, can't you help spread the message that the AA Forum and it's members don't need folks preaching at them about how dumb they are to not support a particular candidate...or how we have Stockholm Syndrome...or not educated enough to make an informed decision....can you help tell the idiots in your home camp to chill the fuck out an stop alert stalking and racist judging?
I'm not committed to either candidate on the Dem side, but you BS'ers are really f'd up in your actions. Don't tell me this crap is on "both sides" that a bunch of bull. A simple search in this forum will indicate that.
I appreciate you being back here and your demeanor and your responses. I need you to go tell those others because I don't have patience for stupidity and will certainly get a hide or ban or whatever the hell mob deems as my punishment.
Don't just apologize or sympathize, be an advocate and let them know!

(58,785 posts)I was small. I thought Sambo was a real winner because he was smart. Oh, well.
Stonecutter, what post was that? I OD'd on that forum and have missed almost all that's been going on, just go in to poke with a sharp-tipped fact now and then, or for a quick dip in the mud. Do you think, now that it is finally unmistakable, that "they" are blaming "blacks" particularly for Bernie's (inevitable) fade? Or just typical of one of one of their larger angst flares?
brer cat
(24,565 posts)It is understandable considering the story line where he is indeed smart and a hero, but most of the countless versions that were published had absolutely vile illustrations, and they were intended for children! Of course that this was a book of choice for black children reflects the dearth of appropriate literature for black children that existed for much of our history.

(1,545 posts)Was based on a character named "Senator Cleghorn" on the Fred Allen radio show in the 1940s. The Cleghorn character was a parody of a stereotypical Southern politician who hated Northerners and idolized the Confederacy. In other words, a segregationist.
Just a little more context.

If they are using terms like "brought to heel" or "super predators" they should be alerted on.
If they are complaining about black voters not voting for their candidate because they are ____ (use the dismissive adjective du jour), they should be alerted on.

(1,499 posts)and I see this coming from both sides (although more from Sanders supporters because, even though neither one of them know the first thing about what it means to be black, Sanders supporters are looking for "group" answers because they're the ones who have to change the status quo and do so quickly)
BUT
I have to agree with all of the comments so far. This "why do Blacks . . . ?" stuff is flat out "yous people" rhetoric.
I used to allow it because I long ago gave up on people who hadn't shared my experiences or those of the people I know getting it, but it is more than a little insulting being asked (much more so actually be TOLD) over and over again what "Black people" think instead of being asked what I think. We aren't chained together.

(20,450 posts)on the other hand, are the only ones who are concerned with racism and have our best interests at heart. Bernie Sanders is running far behind with the black vote, so of course, his fanatics are pretending to give a shit about black people. They don't!
These same people are the ones who tell black people to shut up and sit down when we made claims about racism. Now that their candidate is supposedly a champion for civil rights, suddenly they are SOOOO concerned about racism against blacks.
The hypocrisy is astonishing, but I should not be surprised. None of us should be surprised.

(6,409 posts)It's kind of a good thing. Maybe. Depending on how you look at it. Black voters are pivotal in the contest between Clinton and Sanders. Clinton has the loyalty of the overwhelming majority of black voters, and she's counting on them to help her stop Sanders so she can turn her attention to running against Trump. Sanders is thinking his message will hit home any minute now, and black voters will see he has something substantial to offer, while Clinton is just blowing smoke. There is a real battle for the hearts and minds of black voters. I know much of the attention is not flattering, some is preachy, some condescending, some just plain strange, but it is attention, and that's something. I guess.
