Some of the same people who post "questions" to PoC about this and that are now trying to play a game, and using BLM to do it. They really should stop it's an insult when you never talk about BLM except when thinking it's a way to get your candidate elected. BLM ascends politics and it's more important than any fucking politician so back the fuck up and quit playing games.

(14,195 posts)Is that correct? Hillary came off very badly in the video of that encounter. Any particular reason we should not post about it? BLM wants coverage and wants the conversation to happen.

(14,195 posts)listening to BLM activists I realized that a long time ago. I am a firm supporter of BLM and I believe their tactics have advanced the discussion immensely. For this i am very grateful to them for their courage and hard work.
I had foolishly celebrated that we were finally growing up about race issues when Obama was elected. I was so wrong.

(7,160 posts)I don't think it was handled well.
randys1
(16,286 posts)If so, while poorly handled, far from a big deal.
This is not about Hillary or Bernie or BLM, it is about the same group of people using a group when it fits them, and not when it doesnt and always doing so in the process of whitesplaining.

(16,286 posts)Hey, I think Hillary and Bill have been on the wrong side of the race issue many times, but that was then, this is now and we go with what we have, and if that turns out to be Hillary, fine.

Hmmmm . . .
randys1
(16,286 posts)a candidate unless they act like an ass.
From the first day Bernie was confronted till now, both have handled this as well as you would (not could) expect two privileged white people to do.
Both handling it way better than any con would because both actually dont hate POC, but as privilege white folks, there is a limited reaction based in knowledge they can have.
I just like it ANYTIME the BLACK LIVES MATTER name is mentioned.
rbrnmw
(7,160 posts)I am going to call them on it. They don't give a damn about BLM they care about scoring points
randys1
(16,286 posts)From DAY ONE of the BLM movement and talk of it here, it is clear that a certain group of people dont like them when they are inconvenient but do like them when they are convenient.
Nothing new, white privilege does that.

(31,828 posts)All across social media tonight Hillary is getting the blame. If I were her I would stop the dirty
tricks now. Even if she isn't the one doing it she is the one who is getting the blame. It is going to be a bit like the Rs on her emails and Benghazi. In her case she is going to get the blame true or not.
She should be so busy watching Bernie's back to keep him safe that she won't have time for dirty tricks.
Maybe the Clinton campaign put her up to it?
Maybe it's a Rovian tactic?
Maybe the Clinton campaign saw how it worked for Bernie with white supporters?
I know - plot twist huh?
All I'm doing is throwing out the same theories thrown around last summer - but if they were true then . . .

(1,045 posts)And angers me as well, how it took this primary season, in two thousand and motherfucking sixteen, for people to acknowledge privilege and racism.
When BLM was getting in folks' faces over the summertime, people were up in arms, calling them all types of nasty names. Subhuman...operatives...
Now, almost two seasons have gone by and people have righteously aligned themselves because Hillary got checked. The agenda is clear as a window wiped with vinegar and newspaper.
No one here is fooled.

I'm sure that it's just a coincidence that someone who called a black activist "subhuman" would have a problem with black DUers. Yeah. Coincidence.
