Neat article, but I want to point out an enraging chart (the author is calling it out; this isn't a screw-up by Pacific Standard). So, before you read it, who can tell me what's wrong with these graphs:

1. very misleading -if this isn't a typo- scaled to make the trend lines on the charts point down

Even though it shows and increased mortality rate and for black women as well.

Now Imma read the story

2. The literally *USE DIFFERENT SCALES* for black and white lives

To make it look like white people are dying at a greater rate than black people
