little free library

This birdhouse-looking thing was put up by one of my neighbors a few weeks ago along the sidewalk. It's a place to trade books. I've already taken and left several myself. I felt like it was the highlight of June for me, discovering this!

What I placed inside:
A paperback fantasy novel (It was a duplicate of what I owned.)
A hardcover murder mystery (I'm not much into mysteries; my nephews had bought me a bunch of books at Half-Price Books for Christmas.)
And some Barbie books (These are Barbie storybooks from the 1990s--as a longtime Barbie collector I have dozens of these. I noticed one of them has already been taken.)

What I've taken:
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime
A very nice large hardback about herbs that I gave to my mother, and she told me she's really enjoyed it.

My sister keeps threatening to place her copy of Fifty Shades of Grey.....

although I must say that for the most part, the books I leave off are of better quality than the ones that are available for me to take. Still, the ones that I leave (mostly high-quality, non-formulaic mysteries) go quickly, so someone must be enjoying them.
