For you, THE LACUNA fans

My sister just sent me the DVD, Frida. What a great movie, especially after reading that book. Really added to the whole experience.

I grew up in the Southwest and studied art history but never heard of her until now. I can see why, though. She was quite the liberated woman back then. My sister, who still lives down there, tells me she is now highly regarded and adored. I'm happy to know that.

Loved the movie and the book. A lot of great material out there for you. But nothing beats viewing her art…

Frida was released in 2002, The Lacuna was published in 2009.

Having seen the movie, I have to say that the visuals from the film certainly colored (so to speak) my reading of the novel.
