What are you reading this week of July 17, 2016?

I was browsing the recent arrivals at the library and found a new Louise Erdrich, LaRose. Since I just read Love Medicine, her first novel, I was curious to see what this one would be like after 32 years and some 16 books later. It's really good. Great even. Fascinating premise.

I also picked up The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub, on cd. It's 28 hours long! I shall delve into this adventure after I am done here. Really looking forward to it.

What are you delving into this week?

( I just saw the LBN. I don't have TV or listen to the radio on Sunday so I hadn't heard. Fuck. )

expired, so it disappeared from my kindle and I had to go on to a new one. I am now reading Heidi Durrow's book, The Girl Who Fell From the Sky. Have not made too much headway, but the story is interesting and the characters are very nicely drawn.

Will have to check out LaRose as Louise Erdrich is a favorite writer. Will put my name on the waiting list at the library.

to the kindle, I guess. Sometimes it's gonna take more than 2 weeks to read a book.

I think you will love LaRose. No need to draw a family tree, either. While it does go back to some ancestral stories, it's pretty much centered around two families who are neighbors. So far, anyway. Only about half way through it.

was going to happen, so it wasn't a real disappointment. I can check out for 21 days. This book was just so boring that I wasn't making much progress. That, and other things have been keeping me busy.

Now, started The Book of the Dead by Preston & Child. The third book in the "Diogenes" trilogy. So far, so good.
