an urge for collection resumed churned into an obsession
scraps swept the vermin breed and all of reality distorted
in the forgetful times ownership replaces that of sharing
to grasp and clutch to set claws deep into a scarred skin
casually flipping the poker chip over a chance of daring
becoming immune to human laws and washed of the sin
basic equality has been lost in favor of rank and privilege
as pages turning ever forward the ends are never reached
the gods able to afford the cost declaring all else sacrilege
