scattered on the floor are the pieces of broken love
sharp poignant and deadly together shaping a soul
standing empty hollow all panting and out of breath
wonder what comes next and how much it will hurt
self pity reigns supreme all other’s pain insignificant
where does this miserable mewling sound arise from
as dry tears running in runnels on both side of a face
the hands clinch and wring to make a show of sorrow
slowly reality comes back into focus from the unseen
acceptance hesitates it tries to hide an unfeeling face
as moments stretching twisting still tangled in the false
is there a time to let the hope in or a time to give it up
to sweep the floor of shards miss the bits in the cracks
they glitter when a light touches turn to black in night
