desire lives between hopes wanton wanting wounds
raw ores into the smelter furnace changes evermore
clinging clutching never copes and eternity entombs
dangling dreams distill desires both pure and impure
to sip while searching and reaching random reasons
tangled threads threaten liars yet reassure the unsure
woven wire webs beseeching the keepers of treasons
slight safety sends succor yet it appears only illusion
danger stalks and fear strikes in hearts of hubris held
spreading a lower to upper withholding any solution
learning the likes and dislikes melting as minds meld
huddled in heaps hit and hurt exposed to all danger
helpless dying in the dank dirt savaged by a stranger
