love becomes tongue tied and lust takes steps back
a glance the mind is stilled the soul melting in a fire
eyes forget the tears cried rainbows flow from black
the coldest of hearts heat and a closed mind opens
a music emerges of silence expectation overwhelms
hearts march to faster beats gods make mortal sins
the universe in a balance creates the deeper realms
hands touch in hesitation to reach out or withdraw
as feelings of warmth or cold threatening to mingle
breaths in shallow palpation seeking the slight flaw
diamonds nor precious gold create the similar tingle
now left behind to behold life in a dull empty mind
clutch and clinch of a knife to divide kind or unkind
