The Onion of Truth
The Onion of Truth
At first it seemed quite evident
all the fault was in plain sight,
Since you hadn't done a damn thing
they won because Might is Right:
While mulling this contentedly
a thought mysterious occurs...
If you'd only done your duty
a different outcome then appears!?
Since confusion's not your forte
it's time to take a closer look,
Had you not defied reality
in the trouble that you took?
But now surely that's too easy,
blaming all upon yourself,
It's those Bastards Bad Intentions
bolts the doors on all your cells;
Then, again at bottom
you were there, you can't deny,
Guilt is written on all your aura
you must pay for what you buy;
Who's this telling you you're guilty:
is it something deep inside?
For when you seek, you'd best be careful
or you'll find that hate's your pride.
(Its a waste, all these daydreams,
your wits on dim in darkest night
for when you're old and grey and beaten,
if there no god, maybe all right)
