Hi everybody.
Last week's winner Goblinmonger requests I add the 49ers/Vikes game. Let's do Indy at Jacksonville: it's a divisional contest with the rookie QB Andrew Luck favored. No-brainers on the rest. All should be great games. Good luck!
A reminder: this is the last week to play and remain in ranked standings. As previously announced, everyone receives two bye weeks. If you're new (and if you are, welcome), your bye-weeks have been used up. For a recap of how it works, please see http://www.democraticunderground.com/120418620

My review for the Arizona game, Kolb is going to take the start which will be good news for the Philly D which has allowed 4.2 opponent yards per pass attempt in 2 games(#1 in the league). I don't expect turnovers to continue at a similar rate. In fact when I was reading about the number of teams that came back from 0-2 and made the playoffs, a portion of those committed a massive amount of turnovers in their first 2 games.
The Arizona Dline got incredible pressure on the Philly line last year. The game changing play the Calais Campbell interception was a bit of luck. W/o that play, they don't win the game. The play Vick broke his ribs was on a sack so pundits point to last year as Vick's style promotes injuries when it wasn't what caused the injury. It was an incredibly hard shot and he stayed in the game til the end. The Arizona D will be ready to play, I don't think Vick will hurt Arizona with his legs but w/ weapons in McCoy, DeSean Jackson, and Maclin it'll be tough. I'd predict Philly to cover or win by 3 if I wasn't an Arizona fan so don't change my pick.

(29,322 posts)San Francisco has a big hole just to cover.
I overlooked how well Ponder has played to start the season. Also the Metrodome is a scary place, the Cardinals have a game there in a few weeks.

(5,997 posts)Last week, I hinted that there may be a bias by the officials in favor of the home team, as these less-experienced referees may be more likely to side with the voices of the crowd. That hypotheses certainly wasnt disproved this week, as 14 of the 16 home teams won, the first time 14 home teams have won in a week since the league expanded to 32 teams. So far this season, there have been 231 penalties against visiting teams and only 188 penalties against the hosts. That ratio road teams having to deal with 23% more penalties is far out of line with historical data, which informs us that road teams had 7% more penalties enforced against them than home teams from 2000 to 2011.
Yikes! This week I picked 7/8 road teams to win!

(31,186 posts)many a good man, Liberal_Dog, and Goblinmonger were tied for second at 4-4.
A very frustrating week, made more so by the worst officiating ever in the NFL. Hang in there.
thelordofhell: Send me a game by Wednesday night, please.
