Related: About this forumNo Big Ten team in the coaches poll for the first time ever
Thanks to Ohio States NCAA sanctions, there are no Big Ten teams in the USA Today coaches poll for the first time in history. The Buckeyes are undefeated and ranked at No. 8 in the latest Associated Press poll, but because the coaches poll chooses not to rank teams serving punishments from the NCAA, they wont be considered.

(6,278 posts)1. Well, thanks to sanctions and other teams stinking
Do they also not allow Penn State to be ranked? Even so, that means the remaining nine just aren't good enough in the eyes of the voters...

got all sorts of suspensions and were declared bowl ineligible, yet Penn State harbored a pedophile for more than 12 years.
Is there something wrong here?

Are you suggesting that Penn State got of easier than Ohio State with it's ONE YEAR ban?

Tressel covered it up, and he deserved what he got. Those players are gone now, but I understand the "lack of institutional control" part of it, so I'm not complaining about OSU's punishment.
Mad is suggesting that what OSU did, what USC did, even what got SMU the "death penalty," isn't in the same universe as covering up for a child rapist for more than a decade.
