Alex Rodriguez won’t waive no-trade clause, ‘will be back’ with Yankees

Just after the Yankees were swept by the Detroit Tigers in the American League Championship Series, an embattled but defiant Alex Rodriguez said he would “be back” next season and had no plans to waive his trade clause.

Rodriguez struggled through an abysmal postseason, hitting just .111 through the two series. He was benched for Games 3 and 4 of the ALCS by Yankees manager Joe Girardi.

As the criticism piled up in the past few days, so did trade possibilities involving Rodriguez. But Rodriguez, 37, still has five years and $114 million left on his contract, a good portion of which the Yankees would likely have to eat to make any deal work.

Heh! Wall Street will have to eat most of his contract to get rid of him, making him more palatable to the Boston Roid Sox!!

after somehow getting out of 2 huge contracts for grossly under-performing players (not counting Gonzalez, who was at least playing pretty well despite the lack of power), would want to trade for A-Rod... unless the Yankees were willing to pick up a VAST majority of his salary. I also can't imagine why the Yankees would want to trade him away in the division and pick up most of his salary.

With his kind of money, I'm sure A-Rod can get back on some sort of designer steroid they don't have a test for yet.

The only team interested in A-Fraud is the Marlins.

I could see where more teams might be interested, including the Red Sox, but I can't imagine they'd discount him this much in the division. I heard on WEEI this morning someone suggesting that the Sox would go after him, but idiots call in all the time with "inside information" that turns out to be no more than wild-ass speculation.
