Michael Vick has "significant" concussion

espn.com news services / 11-12-12

Michael Vick sustained a "pretty significant concussion" Sunday and likely won't be medically cleared when the Philadelphia Eagles resume practice this week, coach Andy Reid said.

Reid was uncertain of Vick's status for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins but emphasized that the four-time Pro Bowler would remain Philadelphia's starting quarterback when healthy.

Vick suffered the injury early in the second quarter of Sunday's 38-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and was replaced by rookie Nick Foles, who received a big ovation at Lincoln Financial Field when he entered the contest.

Reid claimed he is "confident" that Foles, a third-round draft selection, will handle the offense if Vick is unable to play against the Redskins.
