Andy Reid Fired from the Eagles

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000118990/article/andy-reid-out-as-philadelphia-eagles-coach

The Philadelphia Eagles didn't waste any time delaying the inevitable.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that coach Andy Reid was informed during a Friday meeting with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie that he'd be fired after the season finale against the New York Giants, according to two sources. The Eagles are expected to formally announce Reid's firing Monday

Reid had a good run here and brought us a ton of excitement. Five NFC championship appearances and a Super Bowl appearance are nothing to sneeze at. I certainly got to enjoy the best years I've ever seen as a fan but the Big Cheeseburger has overstayed his welcome. He really should have been gone a few years ago. He grew predictable and the same mistakes that he made when he first got here never got better. Can't score in the red zone, poor clock management, wasting time outs, stubborn refusal to run the ball, failure to adjust on game day, bad personnel decisions. You can overlook things when you're winning but in losing seasons those things glare out at you and become super annoying. It's just time to go.

He'll be fine coaching in San Diego next year and I have no doubt they'll be a championship contender the second he takes over their program.

I want a defense first coach with NFL experience and a traditional NFC East, smash mouth offense. Lurie will probably bring in another fancy shmancy offensive guru and the frustration will continue.
