Since I was a 9 year old and they came to Bridgeport, Connecticut and played a Pre-Season game in Kennedy Stadium against the Jets and Joe Namath - and I ran on the field after they took a beating that night and Jim Nance let me carry his helmet off the field and I was a suffering fan for decades ever since....So this Sunday I would rather see them go down in flames 55-0 rather than sit through another Super Bowl and watch them lose on another fucking football stuck to the fucking helmet of a scrub receiver or watch Wes Welker drop a ball he never drops ever, unless he's playing the Giants in the fucking Super Bowl !....Fuck it ! ...Nobody remembers who lost the Conference Championship game. Those teams are quietly swept into the dust bin of sports history ...but to lose three Super Bowls due to another fucked up bizarre play would be all I could take. Call me a half assed fan all you want. Who gives credit to the Bills for getting to four Super Bowls, besides the few who appreciate what that took ? I guess you can love a team too much.
Sorry for my annual nutjob rant.
Carry on.

(7,044 posts)I've been a long time fan, too - and well remember the many lowlights. But hell, I've also been along for the ride with the Red Sox -- and the Celtics and the Bruins. It's worth it.
I want the Patriots to go for -- and get -- a 4th ring. They can do it. I am not afraid whatsoever of them trying and failing. But they would lose me as a fan if they didn't go for it - all out. Again and again and again. Sooner or later they will get a 4th ring. They got a fair shot at it right now.

BTW, the Vikings and Bills are 0-4 in Super Bowl history. I was in the heart of Patriot Country when the Patriots got hammered by the Bears the SB.
Also, everyone seems to remember "the catch" and who lost the game.
