Related: About this forumMichael Vick enrolled in dog training classes
Michael Vick owns a dog.
Because he owns a dog, he is doing things some dog owners do. Philadelphia sports blog Crossing Broad received a tip that Vick has been attending dog training classes at a PetSmart store in New Jersey.
The site posted photos which show Vick posing with a store attendant and engaged in a class of some kind with his dog.
Interesting.
Because of Vicks checkered past a past hes told us and scores of media outlets he wants to put behind him Vicks dealings with his pet are under a bit of a microscope.

(56,177 posts)and one day a notorious dog murderer shows up...would certainly make me think about finding another class.

(16,113 posts)I'm not saying I like the idea of him having a dog at all, but if you can't stop him, this is better than the other options.

(31,173 posts)maybe Vick can -- or rather, has learned -- to be a responsible dog owner. I'm not defending him. But one thing in the article is a little distrubing -- the cropping of the dog treats in the photo. Why hide his dog?

(17,086 posts)That's my best guess, anyways. I'm glad he is providing a home for a pet, and hope that he continues on a path of responsible pet ownership. This isn't a topic I find easy to forgive, either.

(32,067 posts)after all there are plenty of other thugs on the field. I really wish the court could have dictated that he never own another dog - sort of a permanent restraining order. I would've even pushed that in lieu of jail time. I really, really hate that he is anywhere near a dog.

(10,893 posts)I think he re-payed his debts--he had his reputation trashed, he spent over a year in prison, and he nearly had his career ruined. He deserves to own a dog if he wants to. Everybody deserves a 2nd chance.

(32,067 posts)I don't think so. If people really want him on the football field that's one thing, but he's proven he can't be trusted around animals.
