Why the Dodgers will probably win the pennant: (Original Post) El Supremo Aug 2013 OP

I don't believe those three players you mention have been out at the same time. Auggie Aug 2013 #6

Funny, but the Mets and Cubs, both BIG market teams with high salaries, have not fared so well madinmaryland Aug 2013 #5

Matt Kemp has played in 62.

Hanley Ramirez has played in 56.

Carl Crawford has played in 82.

3 out of the top 6 salaries have played in 200 out of a possible 360 games. That's only slightly more than half.

Lots of lower salary players contributin' at very opportune times.

I don't buy it anyhow. The Dodgers bought depth, and hitters -- even the remaining healthy ones -- you have to pitch around. That allows those lower salary players like Uribe and Ellis and Puig to see more strikes.

Payroll, according to ESPN: $220,395,196. Yankees #2 @ $203,445,586.

that (aside from last night's pinch hit HR), Andre Ethier has contributed very little to the team's success.
