Wife beating is currently 1/8th as bad as pot smoking. It's official and the precedent is set.

And, this is grandstanding. What's the players' union going to do? Block this by looking like they're in favor of domestic abuse? They could do this in 10 minutes over the phone, fax the riders to the contract, have them signed off, send a tweet to all the membership to inform them, if nobody objects within 10 minutes, it's tacit approval, and they send it back to the league.

This whole thing can happen in under an hour. Announcing they MIGHT do something is PR because of the Rice v. Jordan thing.

they can keep the actual incidents hush-hush so they don't actually ban anyone...Goodell is full of shit
